These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of NangalDewat.com (the "Platform"), a privately owned and independently operated information and record-keeping platform concerning Nangal Dewat, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. By accessing or using the Platform, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Platform.
1. Ownership of the Platform
The domain name NangalDewat.com, the website, the underlying software and source code, the visual identity and branding, the databases and database structures, all compilations and arrangements of information, and the administrative systems used to operate the Platform are privately owned by the platform owner or are validly licensed to the platform owner. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
2. Access and use confer no rights in the Platform
Access to or use of the Platform — whether as a visitor, registered user, invitee, directory participant, contributor, or meeting attendee — confers no ownership, membership, governance, voting, administrative, fiduciary, or representative rights of any kind in or over the Platform or its assets. In particular:
- Being listed in any directory maintained by the Platform creates no proprietary interest in the Platform, the directory, or any database.
- Attending, participating in, or being recorded in any meeting documented on the Platform confers no ownership of the meeting records, the Platform, the domain, or any database.
- Submitting information, content, corrections, photographs, or documents creates no joint ownership of the Platform or any of its assets.
- No collective use of the Platform, and no contribution, participation, listing, or community relevance of its subject matter, transfers ownership of the Platform or any of its assets to any person, group, or organisation.
3. Licence to submitted material
By submitting material to the Platform, the submitter grants the platform owner a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, archive, format, and administer that material in connection with operating the Platform. The submitter retains any copyright they hold in their own material. This licence does not transfer ownership of the Platform to the submitter, nor ownership of the submitter's underlying copyright to the platform owner.
4. Editorial discretion
The platform owner retains editorial discretion over what is published, edited, annotated, archived, or removed, exercised subject to applicable law. Publication of submitted material is never guaranteed.
5. Independent status of the Platform
The Platform is not an official authority of any kind. Information published on the Platform is not official government communication, not official communication of any Resident Welfare Association or residents' body, not legal advice, not emergency information, and not administrative communication of any public authority.
Anyone relying on official information — notices, schedules, entitlements, civic services, legal requirements, or emergency guidance — must verify that information directly with the relevant issuing authority.
6. Transfer of the domain or Platform
- Any transfer of the domain, the Platform, or any platform asset may occur only through a written instrument signed by the legal owner of the Platform.
- No oral discussion, meeting resolution, petition, community vote, informal consensus, contribution, or request constitutes an agreement to transfer the domain, the Platform, or any platform asset, in whole or in part.
7. Intellectual property
Except for material expressly attributed to third parties or to official sources, content on the Platform is the property of the platform owner or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Limited personal, non-commercial reading and sharing of public pages by link is permitted; systematic copying, scraping, or republication requires prior written permission.
8. Acceptable use
Use of the Platform is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Limitation of liability
The Platform and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis for general information. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the platform owner is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on Platform content, from interruption or unavailability of the Platform, or from third-party material reproduced or linked on the Platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, a user who submits material to the Platform, or who uses the Platform in breach of these Terms, agrees to indemnify the platform owner against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from that submission or breach, except to the extent caused by the platform owner's own unlawful act or omission. The precise scope of this indemnity framework is subject to review by counsel.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to review by counsel, the courts at New Delhi shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform, without prejudice to any forum mandated by applicable law.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be applied to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
13. Modification of these Terms
The platform owner may revise these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its date of last update. Continued use of the Platform after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms, and notices under them, may be sent through the contact page of the Platform. The Platform's configured legal contact, where published, may also be used for formal notices.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to override protections or obligations that apply mandatorily under Indian law.
