Editorial and Corrections Policy
Last updated 30 July 2026
Draft for review by qualified Indian legal counsel.
This policy describes how content on NangalDewat.com (the "Platform") is selected, labelled, corrected, and clarified.
1. Editorial control
Editorial control over the Platform rests with the platform owner, exercised subject to applicable law. The Platform publishes selected information; it does not undertake to publish everything submitted to it, and publication is never guaranteed.
2. Provenance labelling
Every published article carries a provenance label so readers can judge its origin, including:
- Owner-authored — written by or for the platform owner.
- Third-party submission — provided by an identified third party and reviewed before publication.
- Official-source reproduction — reproduced from an identified authority, with a source-attribution notice; the Platform is not the issuing authority.
- Opinion — the views expressed are the author's own.
- Meeting record — derived from a privately maintained meeting record.
- Unverified submission — published without independent verification, and labelled as such.
3. Requesting a correction
Anyone may request a correction through the contact page (choose "Correction" or "Meeting-record correction"). A correction request should identify the item concerned, the statement said to be wrong, and, where possible, supporting material.
4. How corrections are handled
- Every correction request receives a reference number and is logged.
- The request is reviewed against the available evidence.
- The outcome is recorded as accepted or declined, with reasons kept on file.
- Accepted corrections are published as visible amendments or appended notes. Corrections never silently overwrite published records: the prior version is preserved in version history, and meeting-record corrections are appended alongside the original record.
5. Clarifications and disputed statements
Where a statement is disputed but not established to be wrong, the Platform may append a clarification or a note recording the dispute, including, at the owner's discretion, a short response from the person concerned.
6. Removal requests
Requests to remove content are assessed under this policy, the Privacy Policy, and applicable law. Lawful, accurate material of legitimate informational value is not ordinarily removed, but personal data concerns are always assessed under the Privacy Policy.
7. No editorial capture
Requesting or obtaining a correction, clarification, or removal creates no editorial control over the Platform and no right in the Platform or its assets.
